Employment

All applicants must have an active email address for the application process and ongoing employment communication. 

Please include copies of two forms of identification with your completed application. These are needed for the DHS background study and employment verification process.

Acceptable documents may include a driver’s license, state ID, tribal ID, Social Security card, birth certificate, military ID or passport.

Go to DHS Registration and register for the required PCA/CFSS training and certification test. A link to the training will be sent to your email. Complete the training and test, then include a copy of your passing certificate with your employment application. 

 A background check including fingerprinting is mandatory for PCA/Support Worker certification. PCA/Support Worker’s must be determined as Eligible prior to starting work. Details are included in the Background Study Notice of Privacy Rights included in the application packet.  

Once we verify your training/test completion, confirm that you have passed the state-required background check and process your application, we will enroll/affiliate you with MNDHS as a            PCA/ Support Worker with our agency. You will be assigned a Provider Number. 

Before starting work as a PCA/ Support Worker, you will need to complete the New Hire Orientation process which may include additional training.  

You will meet with the QP and your client to go over and sign their Care Plan. This is a crucial step to complete prior to starting your duties as a PCA/Support Worker
